World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage. For instance an item with the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value). The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level increases. Components Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects. Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be inserted. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns. An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for examplethe “Canthan Armor Insignia” becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment using less Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods. A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop or collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment. The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure what can be improved upon an update. The process of upgrading an item could be costly, and it is possible that the item will become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when they are reinserted. Glyphs Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as possible. In the endgame you'll often discover that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster. Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced again, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place. Each Glyph has a specific range of values that it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph. You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the various Glyphs and there are some rare glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts. When you have the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats. Leveling The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is known as “upping”. Each upgradeable item has a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level. Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. Cases.gg are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item. When the player improves the equipment they have it will be replaced with an item that is new. The same armor can be transformed into a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback, as the item can become more expensive even if you don't need it. Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do this. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This can be beneficial but it should not be used frequently as it can be a waste of resources. Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides a buff if the player continuously enters or exits the water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item is extremely valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value. The item also loses any bonuses it has gained, such as chances to be crit, attack damage, or other effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or reloading speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure. Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it increases its crit chance, the increase will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated each time an upgrade occurs. The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade. Premium items have different requirements for upgrading in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons.
